Heart of Nehemiah: Don’t allow someone IGNORING GOD stop you from OBEYING GOD (Part 13 of 13)

“Our kings, our leaders, our priests and our ancestors did not follow your law; they did not pay attention to your commands or the statutes you warned them to keep.”

They did not pay attention. They ignored God. They continue to discuss the dangers of not warning God’s people even if God’s people will not respond. They continue to discuss how you can’t judge your ministry by how people respond. Your ministry is before the Lord and people just get the opportunity to benefit from it. Of those who claim to know God 97% are robbing God in their tithes according to George Barna. It is possible for a person and or complete nation to ignore God.

You are held accountable before God if you don’t warn them. You want to be one of God’s people who respond. A lot of people have a closet relationship with God while they are publicly rejecting God and what He is doing. Hardships come when we don’t do what God Says to do.

^“Even while they were in their kingdom, enjoying your great goodness to them in the spacious and fertile land you gave them, they did not serve you or turn from their evil ways.” Nehemiah 9:35

This is much of the American church today. God has so blessed us that our poorest citizen is richer than most in the world. America has been called the bread basket of the world. Yet in the midst of this we don’t credit God and take him out of our schools and bring down his commandments.

“But see, we are slaves today, slaves in the land you gave our ancestors so they could eat its fruit and the other good things it produces. Because of our sins, its abundant harvest goes to the kings you have placed over us. They rule over our bodies and our cattle as they please. We are in great distress.” Nehemiah 9:36-37

Don’t think for a moment America that although the country stays in place that we can be in slavery. Nehemiah is not blaming their captivity for no other reason but for their own sin. He realized that their abundant harvest went to the kings. The direction we are going in is high taxation. Slavery is 100% taxation. When Israel was rejecting God and wanted a king, He told them what the consequences would be. They would be taxed heavily and the king would make demands on them.

The Rule over Our Bodies

Even today laws are coming out regarding what you can eat and how you should raise your children. Nehemiah knew they were in slavery because they left God. They continue to discuss how Nineveh had a set date for disaster but when they responded to God he changed his plans toward them. Will God’s people do what Nehemiah did? There are always contingencies but the good news is that they did respond. If you get serious with God He will get serious with you.

“In view of all this, we are making a binding agreement, putting it in writing, and our leaders, our Levites and our priests are affixing their seals to it.” Nehemiah 9:38

They responded publicly and even made a binding agreement. It takes this kind of commitment. You can make a pact with a party, or leader or you can make a pact with God. If we will do this, call out to God, humble ourselves, turn from our wicked ways then he will return back to us. We have to own this and quit blaming everybody. We have to own our sins and the sins of our fathers if we do maybe the Lord will grace us with a third great awakening.

They continue to discuss how going through public repentance is very important. The word of God convicts us, affirms us, challenges us, and brings us into alignment with God and how we can worship Him.

“But as soon as they were at rest, they again did what was evil in your sight. Then you abandoned them to the hand of their enemies so that they ruled over them. And when they cried out to you again, you heard from heaven, and in your compassion you delivered them time after time.” Nehemiah 9:28

The last time God handed them over to their enemies this time God abandoned them to their enemies. It’s a very dangerous time being on liberty. Sailors would get in trouble on liberty, however when they were manning there position they were focused. Gifting’s can take you where your character can’t keep you. Character is perfected when you are brought close in relationship.

^“So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!”

1 Corinthians 10:12

Idleness produces idolatry.

^“In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers and sisters, to keep away from every believer who is idle and disruptive and does not live according to the teaching you received from us.For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example. We were not idle when we were with you, nor did we eat anyone’s food without paying for it. On the contrary, we worked night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you. We did this, not because we do not have the right to such help, but in order to offer ourselves as a model for you to imitate. For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.We hear that some among you are idle and disruptive. They are not busy; they are busybodies. Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the food they eat. And as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good.Take special note of anyone who does not obey our instruction in this letter. Do not associate with them, in order that they may feel ashamed. Yet do not regard them as an enemy, but warn them as you would a fellow believer.”

2 Thessalonians 3:6-15

What is the pattern to building or even rebuilding the church to the way God wants it to be? We don’t have a lot of time to respond. There have been plenty of times in history of those who have gathered themselves around what God is doing. God is a faithful deliverer who has been faithful to deliver us time after time after time. God longs to be sympathetic, merciful, and have compassion towards you if you confess your sins to him. If we confess openly and honestly before God truly seeking to acknowledge being right with him He will respond to us.

“When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

2 Chronicles 7:13-14

We become deceived when we blame the world for our problems. What is happening is because we have sinned. Nehemiah understood that God warned them about what was going. God warned them to turn them back to their law. Even in the midst of darkness people have a tendency to go deeper. When you are in God’s word you are listening to his heart and what God has to say so you can follow and obey him.

“You warned them in order to turn them back to your law, but they became arrogant and disobeyed your commands. They sinned against your ordinances, of which you said, ‘The person who obeys them will live by them.’ Stubbornly they turned their backs on you, became stiff-necked and refused to listen. For many years you were patient with them. By your Spirit you warned them through your prophets. Yet they paid no attention, so you gave them into the hands of the neighboring peoples. But in your great mercy you did not put an end to them or abandon them, for you are a gracious and merciful God.” Nehemiah 9:29-31

Nehemiah understood the depth and the severity of their bondage and how it was their fault not God’s fault for them being under oppression. How hard is it for a prideful man to take ownership for his own sin? The question for the church is can she repent from her sin?

“Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.” Luke 7:23

Nehemiah was not offended with God. He realized who God was and how he could handle it. He just needed to figure out how they got there and how they can get out. Matthew 21:44 “Anyone who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed Nehemiah understanding Israel’s history saw how their government, their priest, their leaders, nor their fathers did not follow God’s commands.”

Heart of Nehemiah: Heart Alignment and Acceptance of the Leadership of Jesus (Part 11 of 13)

“No one calls for justice; no one pleads a case with integrity .They rely on empty arguments, they utter lies; they conceive trouble and give birth to evil.” Isaiah 59:4

They are worshiping God for who He is.Worship is about Jesus.They acknowledge God and praised him for who He is.They acknowledge his grandeur.When you repent you reposition God in your heart.

They had to restructure who God is in their heart. King Josiah is an example of one who read Gods word and found out what God’s word says then repented and began to get things in order.

“You are the Lord God, who chose Abram and brought him out of Ur of the Chaldeans and named him Abraham. You found his heart faithful to you, and you made a covenant with him to give to his descendants the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Jebusites and Girgashites. You have kept your promise because you are righteous.” Nehemiah 9:7-8

Nehemiah acknowledges God’s faithfulness. God is faithful. He remembered the wonders of the Lord. While in bondage Nehemiah is remembering the faithfulness and goodness of the Lord and how God blessed past generations. He also recounts how they failed to listen and remember the miracles God has done for them. They continue to discuss how we are not going to have liberty if we leave God. It’s time for us to come up under the King Jesus. They further discuss how the majority of the church has stopped listening as 97 percent are not even tithing not to mention that according to George Barna only 19 % of believers read the word of God. We have leaders who are leading us into slavery. We begin to look for man to be our provider.

“They refused to listen and failed to remember the miracles you performed among them. They became stiff-necked and in their rebellion appointed a leader in order to return to their slavery. But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate; slow to anger and abounding in love. Therefore you did not desert them, even when they cast for themselves an image of a calf and said, ‘This is your god, who brought you up out of Egypt,’ or when they committed awful blasphemies.” Nehemiah 9:17-18

God is forgiving, merciful, and gracious to us. He is not one to desert his people. Even when they gave credit to false gods, God in His mercy did not leave them. God has not given up on you. You cannot serve other God’s. Don’t mistake the kindness of God for the acceptance of your sin and works.

“You gave them kingdoms and nations, allotting to them even the remotest frontiers. They took over the country of Sihon king of Heshbon and the country of Og king of Bashan. You made their children as numerous as the stars in the sky, and you brought them into the land that you told their parents to enter and possess. Their children went in and took possession of the land. You subdued before them the Canaanites, who lived in the land; you gave the Canaanites into their hands, along with their kings and the peoples of the land, to deal with them as they pleased. They captured fortified cities and fertile land; they took possession of houses filled with all kinds of good things, wells already dug, vineyards, olive groves and fruit trees in abundance. They ate to the full and were well-nourished; they reveled in your great goodness.” Nehemiah 9:22-25

Do you really think that if we don’t stop with the innocent shedding of blood of the 55 million babies that have been killed since 1973 God will not continue to judge us?

How can you be in a protest march regarding higher taxes when 97% of the church is robbing from God? You can say you are rejecting a preacher yet you are rejecting God. We don’t have to go into oppression. We can cry out to God just like others who have gone before us and God rescued them.

Heart of Nehemiah: You Can’t Live off the Repentance of OTHERS (Part 10 of 13)

They continue to discuss Nehemiah’s journey in Nehemiah. In Nehemiah 9:1 the Bible say that “On the twenty-fourth day of the same month, the Israelites gathered together, fasting and wearing sackcloth and putting dust on their heads.” They further discuss that the only one at this point who has repented was the leadership. Nehemiah acknowledges his sins and the sins of his fathers. At this point if you are not careful you may be tempted to think that his repentance was enough. However, it is time for all of God’s people to repent. The first thing they did was separated themselves from foreigners. We all have to walk through this. We need to separate ourselves. How can you be in the mud while you are trying to help the prodigal? We must not have a works mentality. We need to do things God’s way. You can’t fool yourself to think that because you been among the church doesn’t mean you are part of the church. The Bible shares in Nehemiah 9:2 “They stood in their places and confessed their sins and the sins of their ancestors.” This is an outreach for God’s people who are in the world.

“Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.” Acts 2:38-39

You have to personally repent. No blame game. You are not going to get to heaven by blaming others but only by the blood of Jesus.

^“They stood where they were and read from the Book of the Law of the Lord their God for a quarter of the day, and spent another quarter in confession and in worshiping the Lord their God.” Nehemiah 9:3

What does God say about this? They gave a quarter of the day to the word of God and a quarter of the day confessing their sin before God. You are repenting before God. God is not going to get emotionally invested in the consequences of your sin. It is time to confess sins. If we follow this pattern then we will see God move. They further discuss a move of God that took place on the campus of Asbury College which started when the leaders and then others began to confess their sins. God is here that’s why this is happening that’s what one person said. It didn’t have to do with the gifts. It had to with dealing with sin and mending relationships. We can have a move of God if we respond to God His way.

Heart of Nehemiah: Your Enemy will FREAK OUT! BEWARE of what you SHARE! Stay away from O’ No meetings! (Part 9 of 13)

LISTEN NOW! Greg and Pat continue their discussion on how having the heart of Nehemiah is the secret to rebuilding the church in America. They continued right where they left off in their previous program regarding the warnings of attending “OH NO” meetings.

God is the one who is kept you from a particular job so that you don’t get dragged into an oh no meeting. You still have to watch out for the Sandy Sand storms that are coming against you.

“Then, the fifth time, Sanballat sent his aide to me with the same message, and in his hand was an unsealed letter in which was written: “It is reported among the nations—and Geshem[b] says it is true—that you and the Jews are plotting to revolt, and therefore you are building the wall. Moreover, according to these reports you are about to become their king and have even appointed prophets to make this proclamation about you in Jerusalem: ‘There is a king in Judah!’ Now this report will get back to the king; so come, let us meet together.”” Nehemiah 6:5

When the walls go up the enemy begins to freak out because they see they are losing control. Social media is often used as a gap that allows Sanballat to peak through the walls therefore using wisdom is important. They were all scared that they were losing all control and they were even telling on themselves by their false accusations against Nehemiah. They continue to discuss that you must face reality.

“I sent him this reply: “Nothing like what you are saying is happening; you are just making it up out of your head.”” Nehemiah 6:8

You need to deal with them directly and tell them no that they are wrong. That is not going to make Sanballat happy. Nehemiah knew that they were just trying to frighten them. You can’t do it in fear you have to do it in faith. There is a thing called paralyzing fear but Nehemiah didn’t succumb but prayed and asked God to strengthen his hands. This reveals the humility that was in Nehemiah’s heart.

Further Opposition to the Rebuilding

“When word came to Sanballat, Tobiah, Geshem the Arab and the rest of our enemies that I had rebuilt the wall and not a gap was left in it—though up to that time I had not set the doors in the gates— Sanballat and Geshem sent me this message: “Come, let us meet together in one of the villages on the plain of Ono.” But they were scheming to harm me; 3 so I sent messengers to them with this reply: “I am carrying on a great project and cannot go down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and go down to you?” 4 Four times they sent me the same message, and each time I gave them the same answer. Then, the fifth time, Sanballat sent his aide to me with the same message, and in his hand was an unsealed letter in which was written: “It is reported among the nations—and Geshem says it is true—that you and the Jews are plotting to revolt, and therefore you are building the wall. Moreover, according to these reports you are about to become their king and have even appointed prophets to make this proclamation about you in Jerusalem: ‘There is a king in Judah!’ Now this report will get back to the king; so come, let us meet together. ”I sent him this reply: “Nothing like what you are saying is happening; you are just making it up out of your head.” They were all trying to frighten us, thinking, “Their hands will get too weak for the work, and it will not be completed. “But I prayed, “Now strengthen my hands. “One day I went to the house of Shemaiah son of Delaiah, the son of Mehetabel, who was shut in at his home. He said, “Let us meet in the house of God, inside the temple, and let us close the temple doors, because men are coming to kill you—by night they are coming to kill you.” But I said, “Should a man like me run away? Or should someone like me go into the temple to save his life? I will not go!” I realized that God had not sent him, but that he had prophesied against me because Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.He had been hired to intimidate me so that I would commit a sin by doing this, and then they would give me a bad name to discredit me. He did not succumb to Sanballat’s paid prophet.” Nehemiah 6:2

They continue to discuss how if you remain faithful and don’t come off the Work- We Win- the Walls are completed

The church is scattered today. She is scattered because of leadership. A rebellion towards satan is good and submission to God is good. If you abide with God, He will tell you what to do. They prophesied to him to go lock yourself up in the building. You need to get outside the walls and preach the kingdom of God. All of lucifer’s tactics have one thing in common and that is to stop the work. Don’t be prideful and acknowledge to God that they aren’t trying to intimidate you. They were not stopped and the walls were built in 52 days. Tell yourself I am not going to leave the work. You can’t listen to fear or you will absolutely stop.

They further discuss that when we close up the gaps and build up the walls the church is in order and protected which will result in our nation having safe walls around the country. The whole thing Sanballat was trying to do is to break their confidence. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 10:35-38 “So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For in just a little while he who is coming will come and will not delay. But my righteous[g] one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.” Are we taking a long journey we don’t have to take? Let’s get outside of the walls.

“When all our enemies heard about this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self-confidence, because they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God.” Nehemiah 6:16

When they saw the work completed they lost their confidence because they realized they were coming against God. The very thing they were trying to do to you actually happened to them. We must have a heart of compassion like Moses by forgiving those who have come against what God is doing. We can rebuild, we will rebuild if we refuse to stop, remain humble, and put our total trust and allegiance in Jesus.

You Got To Build and Fight!

LISTEN NOW! Greg and Pat discuss how the heart of Nehemiah is the secret to rebuilding the church in America. They continue to discuss how that even today Israel still has to build walls to keep Sanballat out. It was not just their reality at the time but it is our reality for the church as well. Israel has to do the same thing. The technique of continual attack is one that Lucifer has perfected. Don’t be naïve. Just because people tell you that they are for God and for you but their fruit is knocking you up the head this is not good. If the enemy can’t get you to stop he will try to get you to leave your ministry work. One tactic that Sanballat used was the scheduling of meetings to get Nehemiah to just stop. They further discuss how the church is living stones being built up together. We are building material for the house of God. We are not the house. It’s about Him. Jesus is the one who is worthy. If you know that everything you are doing you are doing it unto the Lord then in then you will be okay. Your reward does not come from man if so that’s all you are going to get. Revival is about reviving the people not the building or the program. They further discuss how we are called to build the house of God with people. Anything that divides the church is of the enemy and anything that brings the church together is of God. Nehemiah never left the work. They even discuss how it is being reported that TBN is allegedly removing prophesy programs from their network.

Nehemiah implemented strategy from heaven on how they were to complete the rebuilding of the walls which resulted in part of their life was going to be spent defending and the other was going to be spent building. If you are going to survive this thing you will need a sword in one hand and a trial in the other. Pick up the sword, which is the word of God, and set out to build. If you abide with the sword the word of God you are arming yourself. You got to build and you got to fight. There are mighty soldiers in God that God is rising up to fight this spiritual battle. In Nehemiah 4:16 we find that “From that day on, half of my men did the work, while the other half were equipped with spears, shields, bows and armor. The officers posted themselves behind all the people of Judah who were building the wall. Those who carried materials did their work with one hand and held a weapon in the other, and each of the builders wore his sword at his side as he worked. But the man who sounded the trumpet stayed with me.” They also gave this instruction that wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet our God will fight for us. “The work is extensive and spread out, and we are widely separated from each other along the wall. 20 Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, join us there. Our God will fight for us!” Nehemiah 4:19-21

If you don’t join what God is saying you will not be part of the battle and a part of the victory. When God is speaking there is a protection.

“So we continued the work with half the men holding spears, from the first light of dawn till the stars came out.” Nehemiah 4:21

You can’t build God’s spiritual house just 15 minutes on a Sunday. We live and function in God all 7 days of the week. They continue to discuss the importance of being a part of a praying community. They continue to discuss how many people lose what God is has done in the day during the night. Stay steady, get rightly related and build. If you are going away in dark times then you left your position leaving the walls unprotected. None of Nehemiah’s men ever took off their clothes or their weapons. They encourage us to remain fully dressed, armed for battle. We are the temple of God not a building. God’s spirit dwells inside of us. Nehemiah had the right perspective; we are in bondage because we screwed up.

“So I continued, “What you are doing is not right. Shouldn’t you walk in the fear of our God to avoid the reproach of our Gentile enemies?” Nehemiah 5:9

Don’t take advantage of your brothers. Nehemiah had to confront the greed and the idolatry of the people. Just as I shake the wrinkles out of my robe should you be shaken out of the kingdom for wanting to keep your brother in bondage?

“…Then I summoned the priests and made the nobles and officials take an oath to do what they had promised. I also shook out the folds of my robe and said, “In this way may God shake out of their house and possessions anyone who does not keep this promise. So may such a person be shaken out and emptied!” Nehemiah 5:12-13

Don’t leave the Work for an “OH NO” Meeting

When anyone rejects authority than you are left with chaos and disunity. It boils down to who are the spiritual fathers who can speak into this.

Don’t be an access and don’t give access to the enemy. Everything was built up except the gates and doors and Sanballat came again. There is going to be a day people are going to be used to kill you thinking they are doing God a favor. So they plan for Nehemiah not to be about his work.

“Sanballat and Geshem sent me this message: “Come, let us meet together in one of the villages[a] on the plain of Ono.”” Nehemiah 6:2

He is invited to an “Oh NO” meeting because Nehemiah never left the work. They were scheming to harm Nehemiah. At some point you got to stop going to Oh No meetings. Nehemiah sends them a message.

“I am carrying on a great project and cannot go down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and go down to you?” Four times they sent me the same message, and each time I gave them the same answer.” Nehemiah 6:3-4

Don’t leave the work. Stay faithful working and building. Why would you leave the work? The fact they are asking you to leave the work points to the fact that they don’t know the season they are in. Whatever you do, don’t leave the work.

Positioned and Ready to Defend and Fight

LISTEN NOW! Greg and Pat If God touches you with the heart of Nehemiah than maybe you can be used in helping the church. However there are others who want their names in lights they don’t want to be in the low places. We are only as strong as our weakest links. If we are faithful in the low things God will reward us with more responsibility with higher places. He then positioned people by their families. Each family was to stay close to the walls to do their part as we work collectively towards the rebuilding of the church. Every part is important for what God is doing.

They remind us of the importance of staying in the word of God so that you can be fully armed. Nehemiah tells them not to be afraid of them but instead to remember the Lord who is great and awesome. Don’t be afraid it’s God who called you and it is God who will build it. Fight for the family of God. Fight against the wolves. There are people who try “save” you from doing the will of God. Nehemiah and the people prepared spiritually and physically. God gave them wisdom on how to defend themselves. All they did was do what God said to do. When they saw the enemy back off; the people went back to work. The Bible tells us in Nehemiah 4:16-18 that “From that day on, half of my men did the work, while the other half were equipped with spears, shields, bows and armor. The officers posted themselves behind all the people of Judah who were building the wall. Those who carried materials did their work with one hand and held a weapon in the other, and each of the builders wore his sword at his side as he worked. But the man who sounded the trumpet stayed with me.” Be strong in the Lord in the full armor of God so that you can stand against the devils schemes. The best way to defeat satan is to win people from the hordes of hell. Stand after you have done everything. Don’t forget to put on the full armor of God. Fight this spiritual battle. Tell your haters God loves them and has a plan for your life.

LISTEN NOW! Greg and Pat continue to discuss the heart of Nehemiah and the secret to rebuilding the church in America. They encourage us not to settle for half built walls and not to leave any gaps. They continue to share that we are building with living stones and these living stones will cry out. We are seeing that if we embrace Nehemiah’s heart we may possibly be able to help rebuild the church. However, that doesn’t mean it is a guarantee because others have to respond as well. This can be seen in the lives of King Saul and King David they both had the same word spoken over them yet just one of them walked it out.

They continue to share how the walls have built up at this point. They further discuss how many have s settled for half way built walls in their lives and ministry. It’s important to know that half way is not all the way. Halfway built walls always leave you open for attack. They continue to share how Sanballat and his crew came back to harass and frustrate the plan of God. They came to the realization that they will not be able to have access to God’s people. They also realized that they will lose their ability to get to them and find themselves outside of the walls. These men were held captive by Lucifer. They were really scarred because all the gaps were about to be closed.As long as you hang out with wolves and have open doors and windows he has access to you. Don’t give access with those who will cross pollinate in a bad way. Don’t be a gap in the wall, a hole for satan’s messages and messengers to get in. The Apostle Paul warned you day and night that wolves would come in from amongst you. Don’t give the wolf access. They remind us that there are people that are supposed to be in the walls and then there are those outside of the walls. They continue to encourage us not to leave gaps open just to make people happy. No gap meetings, emails, and phone calls they will only take you out. They continue to share that if you are on this journey this will prove to be very valuable to you. When gaps in the wall are closed then there is protocol to come in. Jesus said he is the gate any other way in is a thief or a robber. They continue to share how Sanballat started a strategy to come against the completion of the walls. It’s going to be those who say they love God. Plotting to come against Jerusalem. They are doing this because there access is going to be cut off. These people are not just going to go away. The closer the walls are getting higher and gaps closed they realize they will be completely out. They were benefiting from the gaps, hearing what God is saying so now they are panicking because they are losing access. Organizers will use other people who are standing around. They are stirring them with gossip. If this is you; and you have been the “gap” then all that you have to do is repent and turn your heart to God so that you can come in through the gate. They continue to discuss more in regards to Nehemiah chapter 4 and how the enemy doesn’t just sit there he is on the attack. People get stirred up by Lucifer when they realize they don’t have access. It’s time to close the gaps so that people can walk through the gate, Jesus Christ. They continue to share in context of a local church gathering that just because someone came through a gap and is sitting in our present gathering thinking they are in but in reality they are not in because they didn’t come through Jesus. Nehemiah’s response was but we will pray to God. God will show you what to do. They prayed and posted guards to watch and to protect. You need to have a strategy of protection. If the constant onslaught of discouraging attacks were not enough the strength of the labors was giving out. They were half way there finally closing in the gaps and the adversary continues to wage attacks. They begin to think because of the physical stature that the spiritual things the Lord has called them to do won’t be accomplished. That’s why it’s important to write down your vision and be refreshed by what God has said. You also need to seek out wisdom. It’s not by might or by power but by God’s spirit. It’s God doing this thing. Don’t measure yourself by the response of others. They encourage us to just stay steady and watch what happens. The Bible tells us in Nehemiah 4:11 “Also our enemies said, “Before they know it or see us, we will be right there among them and will kill them and put an end to the work.” They are talking about physical deaths but we are talking about spiritual deaths. Those who had their visions snuffed out. Wherever you turn they will attack us. The wolves are circling. People held captive by Lucifer go around seeking someone to devour. Nehemiah sends men to the lower parts of the wall. Many in the body begin to grumble in their hearts because it is perceived by them that it is something that is not as important, but they are wrong. There is not time for wolves just remain steady in God call, direction and most all His love.

Don’t Hate the Haters- Pray for Them

LISTEN NOW! Greg and Pat discuss the secret to rebuilding the church in America. Chuck Pierce says that the reason the governmental leaders are stuck is because church leadership is stuck. The church needs rebuilding. Things are progressing and the attacks don’t stop. Sometimes we need to go through these buffering experiences. You must realize that people’s tongues will be set on fire by hell. This further underscores the importance of not just letting anyone speak in your ears and in the ears of your spouse and children. Nehemiah 4: 3 tells us that the mocking and ridicule continued “What they are building—even a fox climbing up on it would break down their wall of stones!”

Satan tries to talk against the strength or your lack thereof but we trust in the strength and will of God. There are huge consequences for laying your hands and mouth on the things of God. That’s why you can have compassion like Moses did for Miriam because he knew she was speaking against God and not him. Some might just need to step away from it otherwise they will possibly suffer great pain.

We often say that we want just enough government that if God takes his hands off of it it would fall apart. You would think that Satan would give up. Nehemiah realizes that if we are going to continue the work they will have to pray. Don’t take the bait don’t talk back to the mockers but instead talk to God. (Prayer) Nehemiah 4:4-5 says he “Hear us, our God, for we are despised. Give them over as plunder in a land of captivity. Do not cover up their guilt or blot out their sins from your sight, for they have thrown insults in the face of the builders.”

However, we are not going to pray insults on people. We will not begin to hate the haters. However, you can pray for them to stop, for their eyes to be open, for them to give their lives to Jesus. Don’t become a hater pray for deliverance while we are praying for God’s flock. Give people room for repentance. They rebuilt the walls to the point that the walls were built up to half the height. They turned to God; they did not turn against their enemies. All we need to do is to run after God. If you are going to do a work for God you will need to have a continual life of prayer and abiding with Him.

Moving past the Ridiculers, Mockers and Haters- They are just there to sow doubt

LISTEN NOW! Greg and Pat continue to speak about a Ridiculing Mocking Spirit taken on by Sanballat. This tactic is used by Lucifer and others whose tongues are set on fire by hell. They continue to share with us how we need to get over the shock of those who are going to ridicule us. The biggest test of all is when someone who walks with you or the least likely ridicule begins to be used. You’ve got to be able to move on. Remember that people are not what they are being attacked with. Ask for grace and how to handle it. They further discuss the need to be able to discern whether this is a spirit of Sanballat or Nehemiah. What is Satan’s purpose with ridicule? It is to fill you with doubt and to stop you. It doesn’t mean it’s right if you see many people doing it. Wrong is wrong. One of the tools is to use governmental authority to question what you are doing while they themselves are in rebellion. They questioned whether Nehemiah was rebelling against the King. They continue to encourage us that a true believer is not going to come against the church. On the contrary Nehemiah did things the right way before the King which gave him great confidence. Nehemiah replied in Nehemiah 2:20 “I answered them by saying, ‘The God of heaven will give us success. We his servants will start rebuilding, but as for you, you have no share in Jerusalem or any claim or historic right to it.’” If God has called you to do something; you can hold fast that God will bring it to pass. If the hand of the Lord is upon you; you can speak to every doubter, hater and mocker that the God of heaven will bring us success. If God be for you who can be against you?

The Sandy Irritation of Sanballat that comes against the plan of God with the goal of Destroying Unity by Sowing the Seeds of DOUBT

Everything written in God’s word is to encourage us. We are like living stones being built together. This is like a picture of the church coming together. Nehemiah’s heart is the secret to rebuilding the walls of the church in America. Many things have been done in the church in America; some good and some bad things must all be acknowledged. What was done wrong before God must be acknowledged and repented of. Nehemiah heard from the Lord and encouraged them to rebuild by their sphere of influence. He assigned them parts of the walls near the homes. It’s time for us to get busy. Everything just doesn’t happen; there is process. This is not about watching everybody do this. You are going have to take responsibility around your influence. It’s not bout building buildings but instead about building people. People are what is important; because if you don’t focus on people you will be caught up in rebuilding the building at the expense of God’s people. They continue to discuss how just the hearing of this caused Sanballat and his crew to be upset. They began to attack before they got started; and it didn’t stop them; they even came back to try to stop them again. What did they actually say.? We live and move by faith. We must not throw our faith away. The enemy comes against your faith you must contend for it. Sanballat comes to disintegrate your faith. He began to sow seeds of doubt with the desired result of stopping them. “What are these feeble Jews doing?” he asked. The enemy will focus in your limitations and inabilities to do what God has called you to do and if you listen you will go down. If you are trying to do anything through your own strength then you are defeated already. Our inabilities should be clearly visible before all so that the Lord will get all the glory. If you take inventory of your strengths instead of putting your faith in God you will go down. Sanballat goes further to question whether the walls will ever be rebuilt. The enemy will continue to sow doubt to drown you out.

Sanballat sows seeds of Doubt

Sanballat continues to do his very best at attacking Nehemiah by asking more questions to so doubt such as “will they offer sacrifices?”. This is scary to Lucifer because he wants the money. He realizes that they are going to lose their money because God will be honored. He continues to sow more doubt. “Will they finish it in a day?” They begin to put rulers on you trying to measure what God is going to do. Don’t worry about it; just work. Know the vision because people without a vision perish. “Can they bring the stones back to life?” How many people have been so hurt and burned? 1 Peter 2:5 says “you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” Yes, Sanballat, what God has called us to do will happen and the walls of the church’s in America will be rebuilt.

Getting All in the Vision

LISTEN NOW! Greg and Pat discuss the importance of knowing that it’s about all of us rebuilding the wall more than just watching. They encourage us to get on the field and decide to be a player in the game. They talk about how those surrounding Nehemiah need to respond to the vision. They challenge us to get started building. It will cost you everything.

Don’t fool yourself by thinking that by watching it you were doing it. The church needs to wake up. They encourage us not to skip this point because the rest is for not. Don’t let the enemy convince you that you are doing something when you really are not. They continue to underscore the importance of hearing what God is saying and obey it and to be all in. The people with Nehemiah said “we will do it we will rebuild the walls”. At once came Sanballat to frustrate the plans of God. Once they responded, Nehemiah began to share what God had laid on his heart. No sooner was this revealed, Sanballat comes to discourage with ridicule and mocking. No matter what the enemy throws at you; you must know the vision God has called you to and to stand against ridicule.

LISTEN NOW! Greg and Pat discuss Nehemiah’s heart; the secret to rebuilding the walls of the church in America. They continue to discuss how there is nothing more beautiful than true repentance. It’s not just about saying you are sorry and that’s it. True repentance causes us to do something and to change. They further discuss the importance of knowing the season that you are in so that you can respond appropriately. They continue to speak how God is just looking for someone to stand in the gap. Nehemiah was that man that was willing to stand in the gap because he had the heart of God. There must be a people not only willing to stand in the gap but also a people who are ready to get right.

If you are not willing to work without complaining, can’t function in marriage the way God sees it, and can’t honor leadership you are not ready for the deliverance that Nehemiah brings. They discuss how Nehemiah understood how to get God’s attention. They further discuss the importance of not just repenting for the sins of our fathers but our sins as well; the importance of not blaming leaders, fathers, and others but we all have to take ownership. Look at what has happened to America. It was once known as the bread basket of the world. They discuss the necessity to have a plan and to be able to answer specific questions when talking about rebuilding the walls of the church in America. They also discussed that if you don’t have a plan but you do have some answers to the questions, then consider joining others that have the other answers that you don’t have so that everyone with answers can come together for the betterment of the church. Nehemiah approached his authority with humility and honor before God and because of that He was able to ask with great boldness for specific things that he would need to rebuild the walls. They share that as Nehemiah approached the broken walls and surveyed himself and pondered in his heart what he was called to lead, he began to share his clear vision with others who were going to do the work. The Bible tells us in Habakkuk 2:2-3 “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false.Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.” Nehemiah had a plan.

They also encourage us to cry out to God for Him to help us understand and to have His perspective. It has been said by some that the church has sold the American dream and just gave people Jesus. When we go forth to rebuild the walls of the church in America don’t be surprised if a spirit of Sanballat rises up to ridicule you just as it did to Nehemiah. Don’t be intimidated by the horizontal happenings with Sanballat. So many things will come against you but you will need to stick, stay and stand even when it stinks. Don’t let Satan’s weapon of ridicule stop you. They encourage us to understand that if we have done things the right way before God, those with a Sanballat spirit will use horizontal authority to come against us. How we do things and how we honor authority that God has established matters greatly. Right now the church is in the same condition of disgrace as the broken walls and burned gates of Jerusalem. IF we intently soak on Nehemiah’s heart and understand what it means to truly repent, God will begin to rebuild his church.
