Greg, John and Pat continue to discuss the looming fiscal cliff. They share how both congress and the President need to work together because this is what the American people expect. However, it was former chief of staff Rahm Emmanuel who allegedly said, that a crisis should never be wasted. The question is, how far will this administration go? They continue to discuss the fallout Great Britain experienced when they raised the taxes of the millionaires in their country. Many of them left the country with their money to the detriment of the nation. If we continue to raise taxes on the top income earners, what will happen if they leave and move their businesses and money to another nation? The results will be that the rest of Americans will have their taxes raised and will have to pay what the top income earners were paying.

Greg, John, and Pat take some time to discuss and address something dishonorable that was done to the President by Glenn Bleck. Glen Beck on his television program placed a figurine of President Obama in what was a yellow liquid meant to look like urine in a mason jar and tried to auction it on eBay for $25,000. They continue to share that although they have agreed with Glen Beck before on the greatness of our nation they find this act to be very dishonorable. They continue to share that God wants us to respect those in authority. Although one may differ with President Obama on policies and vision for our country, no person and especially no Christian should personally disrespect the President or his family. They also share that the Bible instructs us in 1 Timothy 2:2, pray for those in authority that we may live a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness and holiness.
John and Greg discuss the recent act of Kindness done by an NYPD officer who bought socks and boots for a homeless man he saw while on patrol in Times Square. The officer noticed on that particularly cold night a homeless man, who was barefoot. His act of kindness was not only appreciated by the man but because a tourist caught this act of kindness with a picture many in social media did as well. This picture was shared 133,000 times and liked 409,000 times on Facebook. Greg and John continue to discuss many of the random kind acts that Christians do all over the world, are not recognize by many because the Bible, Matthew 6:3, instructs Christians when giving to the needy, “do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.” In other words, don’t brag or share with others your good works. Allow God who sees what you have done in secret, to reward you in public. Greg and John continue to discuss how many times God, is “liking” and “sharing” all the wonderful kind deeds He sees his children doing.

LISTEN NOW! In this original intent of America moment, John shares about the 4th Amendment and a recent article by Judge Napolitano on Fox.com. They discuss how the 4th Amendment was not just a good idea but was wisdom from what the colonist suffered under the King of Britain. They discussed from Judge Napolitano’s article how the King was looking for new ways to get revenue from the colonists, he instituted the Stamp Act. The act required that on every piece of paper in the homes of every colonist there must appear a stamp issued and purchased from the British government. The way the King was able to know if the stamps were actually placed on the items was to allow British soldiers to write their own search warrants. No right to privacy at all. John and Pat continue to discuss how the Senate today is allegedly examining a set of proposals according to Foxnews.com. These proposals involve possible seizure of all digital data and even key strokes as they are being executed without a search warrant and the other is an alternate proposal that will protect all digital data from government seizure by requiring a search warrant. They also remind us how important it is to know the constitution and to appreciate and stand for the rights it affords us that came at a huge price from others.

LISTEN NOW! You can’t serve both God and money. It’s time to re-think church. The Church is not a building; the Church is God’s people. Greg, John, and Pat share that if you only care for God’s people because there is pay associated with that care then you are a hireling. The Lord never said get paid then go preach. The world’s economy is never going to get right if the Church doesn’t get their economy right. If you are saying that you love your church and you are talking about a building, be open to be challenged with, there is something wrong with the DNA of that. Focusing on buildings instead of the church is a methodology that allows wolves to be among the sheep unnoticed and undetected. It is God’s people, the church, that are supposed to be protected.
