The Bible talks about King Jehoshaphat in 1 Kings 22. This was a man who was a ruler over God’s people. During his time of leadership, he began a relationship and agreement with another King over Israel, King Ahab. What he did not realize, at the time, was that God was not pleased with this agreement or this relationship. It does matter who we marry. It does matter who it is that we enter into business agreements with. It does matter who our relationships are with. Is God pleased with the agreements and relationships that America is currently involved in? We can repent for where we presently are. The battle is the Lord’s and the victory is ours. We must respond in humility and repentance. Give God the glory now, today, in this present moment and watch what God does as you learn how to position yourself rightly to receive what God desires to do, and so much more. Continue Reading…

In this refreshing conversation, Greg, Pat, and John share about a recent encounter detailed by Francis Chan and his experience with Jehovah Witnesses. If we know Jesus Christ personally and have an abiding relationship with Him, when others come to us wanting to share something with us, we need to embrace the opportunity to share with them Who we know. An experience will always outweigh someone’s argument. We must not surrender the teachings of Jesus Christ to someone else and put all of our trust in one human being to teach us. Jesus sent us the Holy Spirit to remind us of everything that Jesus said. Continue Reading…

Greg, John, and Pat discuss Dutch Sheets’ book, The Pleasure of His Company. With all the different declarations of false gods across the world, it is important to have an accurate perspective of who God is. With a wrong perspective of God, you’ll approach Him like a business deal. Truth is God loves you. He created a plan for you. He sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for you. God wants us to share our day with Him, our heart with Him, to be in relationship with Him on a daily basis. We will spend eternity with God or apart from God, depending on how we respond and relate to God in this vapor on the Earth. Be encouraged as you change your perspective of who God is, how He was pleased with you even before you knew about Him, how to enjoy the pleasure of His company, and so much more. Continue Reading…

Many people would be familiar with the growing technology of E-books, whether on a tablet, a kindle, or all different sorts of technology. Reading books electronically has its own advantages as some come with their own “highlight tool”. Reportedly, CBN shares how Amazon has been gathering this highlighted data and has recently shared what the most highlighted scripture is in the Bible. It is encouraging that people are reading the Bible, yet also concerning at the same time. Is there a way to spend time with God without Amazon knowing what you’re reading? Continue Reading…

In a recent study, according to CBSLocal.com, most Americans believe God rewards athletes with faith. “53 percent of Americans and 56 percent of self-described sports fans say athletes with faith in God are rewarded with good health and success……” Looking at athletes such as Russell Wilson, Tim Tebow, and Benjamin Watson, we can see the reality of these truths. Imagine what impact on the Kingdom we can have for God if we worked just as hard in our applicable areas of entrustments as they are doing on the field. Whether it’s in the classroom as teachers, in the board room in our places of business, and every other place in our daily lives. Everything that we do, we can do it for the glory of God. We can have a lasting impact regardless of where we are. Continue Reading…

Describing himself as a ‘father in this generation’, Dutch Sheets brings an encouraging reminder of how God has spoken to him of what is coming in the days ahead. Nearly 6 years ago, Sheets was given a dream from the Lord about the needed battle strategy in order to fight the giants in the land. He was given two boxing gloves, “Evergreen” and “Everlast”. What started in a dream from the Lord, years ago, has resulted in Sheets continual push and a resounding voice of hope to the nation. As Sheets advises, it is vital for us to connect the faith of our founding fathers with the birth of our nation. By looking at what took place at the time of the First Great Awakening, we can be made aware of this reality.
The armies of the Lord are greater than the armies of darkness and evil. Whose side are we on, and whose side are we choosing to fight for? We can repent for where have turned away from God. We can repent for where we have allowed the enemy to come against and steal the things of God. We can turn back to God. If we choose to be on God’s side, it is the Lord that fights our battles for us. Now is the time to praise Him amidst the face of our enemies, and allow the Lord to receive the glory for what He is going to do. Continue Reading…

In our everyday lives, we see injustices that are taking place. Whether who anyone may be, it matters how we respond to someone who is treated wrong. Greg shares a story of his own when he encountered his very own reality. At that point, we have a choice: do we continue to do business at a particular establishment, or stand up and voice the truth? Contrary to what one may believe, racism is a spirit. Through a test conducted by a teacher in her very own classroom, she concluded how quickly this spirit can enter into an individual’s mindset based off of words that are spoken out over a people. The words that we say about others matter. The human race cannot be categorized by colors, nor can it be categorized by shades of color. It is simply the human race. Jesus Christ died for all of humanity that all may have eternal life. Continue Reading…

Our hearts are saddened and broken for our fellow citizens on the Gulf Coast who are suffering as a result of Hurricane Harvey, which came barreling in as category 4 hurricane, bringing much destruction and a deluge of rain. Mass flooding, stranded people on roof tops, and millions more are without power, and it still continues to rain. Reports are, people are getting desperate as a new reality is beginning to set in. Its reported that FEMA’s director says Harvey is probably the worst disaster in Texas history, and it will take years to recover. So many first responders, as well as citizens from all over the Gulf Coast are giving everything they have to rescue people and bring them to safety. This is only the beginning. We, at VFNtv, are urging everyone, everywhere to do two things: First, pray. Ask God to comfort the victims of this horrific storm, and to provide the help they will need to recover and to keep everyone safe. Secondly, Donate to Operation Blessing as they are presently in Texas giving out supplies, resources, and ministering to the needs of the people in Jesus’ name. Operation Blessing is a trusted source as we have worked closely with the leadership team during hurricane Katrina. Donate to Operation Blessing Disaster Relief Fund and please share with a friend.

When two young Christian men heard of an atheist slave owner who controlled nearly 3,000 slaves, their reactions are still sending ripples of their boldness to this day. No minister was allowed on the West Indies Island where this slave owner and slaves were being held captive. There was no other option. These men sold themselves as slaves. Their reasoning? “May the Lamb that was slain receive the reward for His suffering!” They made a choice not for themselves or their own generation, but for others, and for generations to come. This is the story of the Moravians. Continue Reading…

When we look back on the profound lives of those that had a major impact for the Kingdom of God and the truth of Jesus, often times we see the mighty testimonies of how God used them, but are unaware of who they were when God called them: simple men and women who had a desire to follow God. Roberts Liardon writes a masterpiece of encouragement through the stories of these great men and women of the past in his book, God’s Generals. Aimee Semple McPherson, Smith Wigglesworth, Jack Coe, and Kathryn Kuhlman are just a few of those who Liardon writes about. Continue Reading…

In the book of Matthew, it details an account that Jesus had with those who would often be considered His family while Jesus was ministering to others in a house. Picture this: a crowded house, Jesus sitting at a table, surrounded by attentive onlookers; then, a knock at the door. When the door opens, standing there was Jesus’ mother and brother asking for him. When Jesus was told who was waiting for Him outside, He simply replied as Matthew 12:48-50 states, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers? Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” Continue Reading…

When we look back at the profound life and events that were carried out through such impacting men, like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. we see the mighty advances and effects that one man can have on not only a people, but also a nation. What we may not be aware of is the opposition that takes place amidst such intense advancements. Bishop T.D. Jakes shares about an encounter that he had with a man who walked with Dr. King, Andy Young. Young detailed to Jakes the opposition that Dr. King received on every side. While there was opposition on the outside, there was murmuring and complaining on the inside. The profound wisdom that Young shared was, “we could not wait for the controversy to stop for the movement to go forward.” Have you been waiting for the controversy to stop in order to begin again where you left off?
