Sanctuary Cities and the Bible

President Donald Trump states how he is working “to make America safe again” by removing dangerous illegal immigrants. It seems that many in America are not wanting to have this done. Many cities are responding stating that they will be a sanctuary city and take in illegal immigrants and protect them. In the Bible, Joshua 20 talks very specifically about a City of Refuge. When talking to Joshua in verse 2, the Lord says, “Tell the Israelites to designate the cities of refuge, as I instructed you through Moses, so that anyone who kills a person accidentally and unintentionally may flee there and find protection from the avenger of blood.” Yes, God did start sanctuary cities, but He gives specific instructions on who is allowed to be kept safe in the city of refuge. The Lord continues His directions to Joshua in verse 4; “When they flee to one of these cities, they are to stand in the entrance of the city gate and state their case before the elders of that city. Then the elders are to admit the fugitive into their city and provide a place to live among them. They are to stay in that city until they have stood trial before the assembly and until the death of the high priest who is serving at that time. Then they may go back to their own home in the town from which they fled.” God wanted Sanctuary Cities to be put in place so that people had a place to run to when they did not break the law.

President Trump is working to secure our country and to keep us safe. He is using legal measures to do this and the court system in America is key in how this process works. Let us stand with our president and support him and pray for him as he is working hard to keep all Americans safe and to secure our country once again. We join an interview with Elon Musk who is being interviewed at the World Government Summit. He answers the question, what to do with mass unemployment? He answers that there should be a universal income so that even if someone isn’t working they can still be paid. “There will be fewer and fewer jobs that a robot cannot do better.” Because of everything moving toward robots producing everything and doing normal jobs then everything will be cheaper. When our jobs are taken away then we aren’t able to find value in work which is where many find value. “There is nothing better for a person than that he should eat and drink and find enjoyment in his toil. This also, I saw, is from the hand of God.” If we had millions of idle people in our nation and the world it would not be good. When someone takes away your ability to work it is taking away what God has designed you to do. God has made us to live a productive fruitful life.

Elon continues to share about how he believes we, humans, are already like cyborgs. When we die we leave behind a “digital ghost” because everything that is online is still there. Because of this he believes that “we will see a merger between biological intelligence and machine intelligence. A computer can communicate at a billion bits per second. But, your thumb can maybe do 10 bits/second, or 100 if you’re being generous…So, some high bandwidth interface to the brain, I think, will be something that helps achieve a symbiosis between human and machine intelligence, and maybe solves the control problem and the usefulness problem.”

Elon is saying that there will be some way our brain will be able to connect to the internet! Reportedly, Ray Kurzweil is already working on a brain cortex that connects to the internet. Instead of having to type our search queries into Google, we will simply be able to think what we are searching for. We need to walk in wisdom in these days and learn what God says to do which is what our goal is here at VFNKB, to help you walk this out! We want to hear from you. During President Trump’s initial Presidential campaign, he stressed the priority of safety in America and the threats of ISIS in the world. While speaking about how to establish safety in our nation, he continually spoke about building a wall along America’s Southern Border. Since President Trump has taken office, he has sought to establish laws regarding Sanctuary Cities, even though certain individuals have refused to abide by his leadership.

From day one in the White House, he has demonstrated himself as a man of action. Most recently, he held a Listening Session with the Fraternal Order of Police and spoke about the actions he was carrying out in order to end these threats. “My highest duty as President is the security of our people, the security of our nation.” The President continues, “That is why I’ve already taken numerous actions to enhance domestic security, including the creation of Task Force on Reducing Violent Crime, an inter-agency task force to dismantle criminal cartels, along with historic actions to secure our borders and remove criminals from our country.” As bold as the President has been as he has proved sincere on many of the campaign promises he stated, it appears that many do not want the President to secure our borders. For some reason, people do not want a door of safety to be established in America. While the President has made it clear on his intentions towards illegal aliens in America, critics have sounded their disapproval of the President’s actions towards Sanctuary Cities. What Does the Bible says about Sanctuary Cities?

From day one in the White House, he has demonstrated himself as a man of action. Most recently, he held a Listening Session with the Fraternal Order of Police and spoke about the actions he was carrying out in order to end these threats. “My highest duty as President is the security of our people, the security of our nation.” The President continues, “That is why I’ve already taken numerous actions to enhance domestic security, including the creation of Task Force on Reducing Violent Crime, an interagency task force to dismantle criminal cartels, along with historic actions to secure our borders and remove criminals from our country.” As bold as the President has been as he has proved sincere on many of the campaign promises he stated, it appears that many do not want the President to secure our borders. For some reason, people do not want a door of safety to be established in America. While the President has made it clear on his intentions towards illegal aliens in America, critics have sounded their disapproval of the President’s actions towards Sanctuary Cities. But, what does God say about Sanctuary Cities?

A City of Refuge is not a Democratic idea, nor is it a Republican idea. It’s not even an American idea. In the Bible, Joshua 20 talks very specifically about a City of Refuge. When talking to Joshua in verse 2, the Lord says, “Tell the Israelites to designate the cities of refuge, as I instructed you through Moses, so that anyone who kills a person accidentally and unintentionally may flee there and find protection from the avenger of blood.” Okay, the Lord wanted specific cities to be designated for these purposes. But, there were also certain procedures that had to be carried out at the borders. Then they may go back to their own home in the town from which they fled.” God wanted Sanctuary Cities to be put in place so that people had a place to run to.

Since the President has begun his leadership in the White Office, he has made strategic steps in establishing the needed personnelto be placed upon our nation’s border. He has also taken the steps to establish judges throughout the land, as well as the most recent appointment to the Supreme Court, Justice Neil Gorsuch. In its most basic understanding, a judge is one who enforces the established laws of the land. Our law enforcement, border patrol, and Homeland Security personnel do exactly that. It is not wrong for the President to establish “judges” on the borders of America who enforce our laws and call individuals to appear in court. If someone refuses to obey the laws of the land, or insist on entering America outside of the legal procedures, that would be doing so illegally. God established Sanctuary Cities and processes to be done legally. The court system in America is very important to how this process works.

It’s important to understand the Biblical perspective of a Sanctuary City. We are hearing that we must have Sanctuary Cities, but those who are promoting the usage of it are doing so in a manipulative way. As we can see, God is all about a Sanctuary City, but He is also about it being done ‘legally’.

In addition, there has been an array of responses towards the President’s stance on the ‘Extreme Vetting’ that must be done along our borders in order to keep America safe. People say it’s unfair to vet someone. People say it’s wrong for the President to want to build a wall. If someone wants to come into America legally, they can proceed through our borders. For some reason, people are upset about this reasoning.

What may be surprising to some is that Heaven has a wall around it. Revelation 21 describes how Heaven not only has a wall around it, it has a HIGH wall around it. In fact, God not only created a wall around Heaven, but there are also guards at each of the entrances to Heaven, called angels. The Bible even describes the type of extreme vetting that Heaven requires for access. As verse 27 reveals, “Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.” Revelation 22:14 further describes those who are able to pass through the gates of heaven; ”Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.” It is not wrong to place a high border along our Southern border. We are mere men. If Heaven has a high wall with extreme vetting being carried out at its gates, how much more do we need this in our nation?

President Trump has Historic Video Call with U.S. Female Astronaut who Broke the Record for Time in Space

If our President, President Donald Trump were not busy enough already, he recently took the time to have a video conference call with a few individuals that are outside the normal calling range: outer space. More specifically, the International Space Station. On the heels of the recent Executive Order that provides additional funding to NASA, President Trump spoke with astronauts about the amazing journey from Earth to Space, as well as the unbelievable feat that has recently been accomplishedin space.

Reaching outside the limits of ever wi-fi tower imaginable, President Trump speaks with two astronauts from his Presidential Desk, “Station this is your President. Do you hear me?” In a matter of seconds, they respond from space. “Yes sir. We have you loud and clear”. Quite an astonishing feat to simply recognize how far we have come. In his customary words of optimism and encouragement, the President begins to share how exciting it is to talk with these amazing Americans. “I want to say it’s very exciting to be here today very, very exciting — and to speak to you live with three brave American astronauts. These are our finest. These are great, great Americans, great people. Two join us from orbit aboard the International Space Station: Commander Peggy Whitson and Colonel Jack Fischer.” If becoming an astronaut isn’t already an achievement in itself, Commander Whitson is the first astronaut to achieve this amazing feat: “The Most Total Time in Space”. At the time of the conference call with the President, she has spent 534 days in space and is still counting.

As the President asks what we are learning in space, Commander Whitson talks about the strategic part the International Space Station plays in their research as well as how it serves in the role of further discoveries. “Well, I think probably the International Space Station is providing a key bridge from us living on Earth to going somewhere into deep space.” A generation before us was focused on the vision of reaching the Moon. Today, it is Mars. Commander Whitson continues, “So on those Mars missions, we need to better understand how microgravity is really affecting our body, and we need to understand it in great detail. So, many of the studies are looking at the human body. We’re also looking at things that involve operations of a space vehicles on these long-duration missions and the technological advancements that will be required.” She continues to discuss how the usage of air and water are critical in these environments and what is being done to optimize them for a successful mission.

As the conversation transitions from Commander Whitson to Colonel Fischer, all eyes are focused on the man who is literally hanging from the wall. Colonel Fischer talks about his trip of being launched into space by comparing it to his “F-22” that he has previously flown. As the sheer power and force of being launched into space is not overwhelming enough, Colonel Fischer says, “Oh, sir, it was awesome. It made even my beloved F-22 feel a little bit underpowered.” After arriving at the International Space Station six hours later, he worked alongside his Russian friend, ‘Fyodor Yurchikhin, from Kazakhstan’. Moments later, a Frenchman is working a robotic arm carrying three and a half tons of cargo. “The International Space Station is, by far, the best example of international cooperation and what we can do when we work together in the history of humanity. And I am so proud to be a part of it. And it’s just cool.”

It is exciting to see the hopeful messages and response from the President about the explorations and possibilities that have yet to be realized as we reach further into God’s Creation. As the Trump Administration becomes more and more comfortable in their new roles and positions, many may have already forgotten those that held previous roles during the Obama Administration. But, one previous individual is important to remember. The Lord revealed prophetically that Eric Holder, who was the Attorney General in the Obama Administration was being used to stir up strife. In this encounter, the Lord showed Eric Holder offending many different people, of all races. What the Lord was revealing was that Holder was being used to bring division in our country.

Of all the states that have been most opposed to the current President, President Trump and his Administration, is California, as they have fought against his policies on nearly every platform imaginable. The state of California recently hired Holder to represent California to fight against President Trump, as reported by The New York Times.

When we look at the past eight years, everything imaginable that could be divided, was divided. It is God that is the cohesiveness that holds all things together. When we turn away from God, He lifts His hands-off things. It was during this 8-year season that America continually made decisions that were against Israel. We cannot stand against Israel. We must stand with Israel. It is anti-Semitism, racism against Jews, that is the root of all racism. Racism will be dealt with in America.

It is vital that the Church pray for America, and that Eric Holder would not be used to bring division against President Trump, or any division within our country. Anything divided cannot stand.
