Charles Simpson shares on How to be the Church

It seems like people are terrified to be the Church. God blesses people, gives them jobs, heals them, but they don’t bring Him up! Why do people fear what people think by bringing God up? In America we will lose our country if the Church doesn’t speak up and give Him the glory! The world doesn’t know that God is doing the good in our nation because the Church is not saying anything. Brother Charles Simpson continues the conversation and says the biggest frustration for him is “getting the Church out of the church (building).”

Even in the Church, people are not connecting and are like a dysfunctional family, living like orphans! We are called to be family but have messed up the definition of family. Since the Church has messed up what family is, that could be why family is messed up in the nation. Brother Charles says, “We have lost 80% of our young people and fatherhood is the number one problem in the world.” He focuses on ministering to men because if “men will turn their hearts to God, for the most part women will stand with them, and children will be more likely to stay with the Lord too.”

At VFNKB, we ministered to men through the Next Step Outback camping trips making an atmosphere for God to meet men and their sons. We even had mentors for fatherless sons, and they were impacted so much that even now they say how the Next Step Outback changed their life.

They continue to talk about family, and Greg shares how many times he feels more loved and cared for by those who are not followers of Jesus than those who profess to follow Him. Jesus had more mercy on the adulterous woman and tax collectors than He did on the religious leaders! Brother Charles tells people that, “prostitutes and addicts have never hurt me, but Christians would like to kill me…if we don’t have authenticity in our faith then it’s dangerous because you are walking on thin ice.”

It is important to write out your testimony and to be real with others so that anyone can see that you are human. We also need to be real and honest before God! “God can help an honest person. A person who is not willing, to be honest, is going to be in trouble.” When we try to do things in our own strength we will eventually crash, but when we depend on God and trust Him then things can be accomplished through His grace. He gets all the glory!

As the Church, since we are a family, we must allow the Father’s perfect love to guide us which will drive out fear as He changes our nature and character by developing us into who He created us to be! Charles Simpson shares on being led by Holy Spirit

We continue the conversation with Charles Simpson, and he shares how we must be Holy Spirit led. Also, he says that we must reach men because when we reach men, we can reach the family! You can find out more and catch up with the first segment HERE.

Charles was reading Jesus’ Words about His yoke being easy,

“For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:30 ESV

“I realized that I had fashioned my own yoke. It wasn’t His. I was trying to live the way I thought that a pastor was supposed to be…and it was chaffing me.” He says this is what drove him to seek the baptism of the Holy Spirit! He needed to experience something new, or he was going to leave the ministry. He was reminding God that he didn’t even want to be in the ministry originally and was telling Him he knew it wasn’t going to work out. God used this time to draw him closer and to bless him.

“You have to get real. I don’t mean that it isn’t hard sometimes. Sometimes it is hard, but there is grace.”

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9a ESV

“When you are out of grace that is a clue that you are in the wrong place, or you haven’t been sensitive to God.” Many people may only think they can experience or have Holy Spirit at a church (building), but He is with you everywhere! You can experience Him wherever you are because you are the temple of God and His Spirit is in you!

One way the Spirit can manifest is by helping you to “know” people. Jesus knew people; He looked in the heart of people not just at them. Brother Charles shares how he was in a restaurant, and Holy Spirit was telling him something about the waiter. He finally said to the waiter that God’s hand was on his life. He saw into the waiter because he listened to the Spirit! We must be led by the Spirit, “being led by the Spirit means He’s in front and we are in back…this makes life so much easier and more enjoyable.”

CHURCH: What is it and What is its Purpose? What is God’s Original Intent?

What is the purpose of the Church and what is God’s original intent for the Church? The Church began when the Holy Spirit showed up on the day of Pentecost.

“When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.” Acts 2:1-4

There is not a certain expectation for the Church. We can be anywhere and be the Church, and everything that God says applies to us no matter where we meet.

How do we bring the gospel to this next generation with Church planting? It is said the quickest way to win souls is new Church plants. As the Church, we should always be thinking about how and where to plant the next Church. In this, we must be very careful how we lead Church plants. Greg shares how God spoke to him and said that He is going to teach him for three years what he can use for the next 30 years. As Greg talks about a Church plant that happened, he shares how healings broke out, people were having dreams and hearing from God like never before.

The Church is ready to see the power of God. In the context of this what was learned is to stay with Biblical principles. Ultimately, we need to watch what God is doing and hear from God in our time with Him. Be encouraged, get into the Word of God and be rightly related to your Pastor and your Church. What defines the Church is that we are walking out Biblical principles. At VFNKB we saw that we would need a training center that focuses on training and launching Pastors, missionaries and even business missionaries to be rightly related so they can plant the Church that they are called to plant.

#WisdomMoments Let Love and Faithfulness Never Leave You

In this wisdom moment we speak about the importance of love and faithfulness.

“Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.”
Proverbs 3:3-4

When you think about love we can look at how it is defined in 1 Corinthians. “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.Love never fails.” Only doing works without love is just noise to God! Love is vital in our life.

When you look at faithfulness and wonder if you are faithful you can check to see if you have loopholes in your circumstances and relationships. If someone has loopholes, then they keep a way out, so they don’t have to stay faithful. Faithfulness requires suffrage and it requires you to do without sometimes, but this pleases the Lord!

For love and faithfulness to be written on the tablets of your heart you must spend time with God, abide with Him. What you meditate on is what is written on your heart! How can you expect to find favor with God and man if you are not faithful with God where you are at?
