Facebook SECRETLY RATING User’s Trustworthiness? Can Facebook be Trusted or is this the beginning of the end of Privacy and the beginning of policing Citizens?
Did you know that Facebook is secretly rating you as a user based on your trustworthiness? It is a hidden scale to fight fake news reportedly. Greg and John give us the details of this hidden rating system so that we can know that truth of what is going on behind the scenes of social media. They also give us the wisdom we need to not be fearful of these changes.
The Christian Post reports on the new system Facebook is using to rate their users’ trustworthiness. “Facebook has revealed that it will start rating its users on a hidden trustworthiness scale, as part of what it says is its battle against “fake news.”
Facebook product manager Tessa Lyons told The Washington Post in an interview on Tuesday that the ratings system will seek to identify users who attempt to game the system by repeatedly reporting content they disagree with as untrue. Lyons insisted that the trustworthiness score is not meant to be an absolute indicator of a person’s credibility but will serve as a behavioral clue for the Facebook team to monitor those who continuously flag content as problematic. Several experts have spoken out about their unease at this new tool, given that users will have no way of knowing their score or disputing it.
“Not knowing how [Facebook is] judging us is what makes us uncomfortable,” said Claire Wardle, director of fact-checking company First Draft. “But the irony is that they can’t tell us how they are judging us — because if they do the algorithms that they built will be gamed.” Bernie Hogan from the Oxford Internet Institute said that Facebook’s methodology still raises concerns, however.
“Consider the analogy of one’s credit score. You can check your credit score for free in many countries — by contrast, Facebook’s trustworthiness is unregulated, and we have no way to know either what our score is or how to dispute it,” Hogan argued.
“Facebook is not a neutral actor and despite any diplomatic press materials to the contrary, it is intent on managing a population for profit.”
Greg gives an example of this being like having a telephone and the telephone company telling you who you can and can’t talk to and/or blocking you being able to talk to certain people. This is violating our Constitutional rights in America! The First Amendment reads: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. On Facebook you are assembling friends around you and sharing your grievances. When Facebook regulates that and blocks friends from seeing your posts etc. it is a violation of our First Amendment rights!
Maybe you are called to create a new social media network that is based on the U.S. Constitution! If you were to create that many people would switch to that network overnight knowing that their freedom and privacy is protected.
TomoNews continues with the report about the Facebook rating system. “Looks like someone got inspiration from the Chinese government. Facebook has now started giving scores based on trustworthiness of users on the social media site…other tech companies such as Uber and Twitter also give their users scores and ratings. Even the Chinese government has a system in place in which it gives citizens a social credit score based on their behavior both online and off.” This is a strategy to produce a narrative that is not constitutional.
TomoNews brought up China and how the government has created and is currently using a system that gives citizens a social credit score, which is based on many different factors. The name of the system is Sesame Credit and it will be mandatory for Chinese citizens by the year 2020. Extra Credits shared on how the Sesame Credit system works, “Having a high score gives you special benefits, like making it easier to get the paperwork you need to travel or making it easier to get a loan. Now, currently there is no consequences about having a low score, but there’s been talk about implementing penalties once the system becomes mandatory in 2020. Penalties like slower internet speeds, for low scoring citizens, or even restricting the jobs that a low scoring person is allowed to hold…. because this is all part of a social network, it also scans your friends; so, you will lose your points for having friends with low obedient scores; and it tells you this. At any point, anybody can check anyone else’s score, and when you check your own score, Sesame Credit provides a handy map of your friends to show who is dragging your score down….” This is somewhat like the U.S. credit score but the sesame credit score measures how closely the citizens follow the party line. Based on the posts one makes on social media can either raise or lower their score. The government is using this system to allow it to do the dirty work for them. We are at the tipping point in the world that things could go the wrong way!
These changes that are taking place online and in social media shows that tech giants have the power to change votes! Psychologist Robert Epstein is interviewed by Tucker Carlson on Fox News and he expresses his concern over what can happen in the mid-term elections because Facebook and Google are manipulating users to vote differently. “We should be extremely concerned…content no longer matters. All that matters are the filtering and ordering of content and that is completely in the hands of Google and Facebook to a lesser extent Twitter.” Tucker asks the question, “How would a company…like Facebook or Google manipulate public opinion to achieve a desired result in an election?” Dr. Epstein responds, “I think they are doing this all the time actually because we are well aware of the fact that they suppress material, sometimes they announce it, sometimes they don’t. We are aware of the fact that Google puts some items in search results higher than other items. Well if search results favor one candidate that shifts votes. I think we are well aware of the fact that news feeds on Facebook sometimes seem to favor one political point of view over another and that shifts votes.” He continues to state that from his calculations 10 big tech companies will be able to shift upward of 12 million votes in the mid-term elections! This is reminding us of the mark of the beast! It seems that this world is moving towards that, with all the changes that are taking place!
With the changes that are happening in the world this point toward one thing, where do we stand on money? Jesus said, “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.” We must make our choice to only serve God and trust Him through everything knowing that He will provide for all our needs!
