New Poll Released 12 Issues Christians Want their Pastors to Preach About

George Barna, with The Barna Group, surveyed Christians asking what they wanted their Pastors to speak about. The released results had some surprising responses! Those that were surveyed, 72% wanted to hear about Islam. What are the core beliefs of Islam? This was # 12 on the list. As a Christian how do you respond to Islam? On VFNtv we talk about different religions including Islam, so you can be educated and understand how to respond to Islam. Of the American Muslims, 52 % agree with a forceful takeover of the U.S Constitution to enforce Shariah Law. We need to know the differences between religions. There are only about 4 million Muslims in America, and the media is making a big boast of the Muslims that are living in America. How it has been talked about on media you would think that number would be greater. At # 11, 73% said that wanted to know: What is the role of The Church in Government? The First Amendment was created to keep the government out of the Church, not the Church out of government. People are wanting their Pastors to teach them about Church, Politics and Government. We are about freedom of speech in America! The next desired topic of discussion is at #10, 75% want to know about Self Governance. Many people are trying to find some hero to come in to rescue them, but America is about all of us working together doing our part. As Christians we need to be a disciple of Jesus, we are held individually accountable before Him for our lives. God expects us to govern our lives according to His word. At #9, 76% want to know about Bioethics: Cloning, euthanasia, genetic engineering…, many people are trying to live a longer life on this earth, but life is a vapor and as believers we should be teaching about eternal life. At #8, 76% want their Pastors to discuss the Role of Government. Americans need to learn our history. It is very important to understand the role of government, which you can learn from the history of America and where we came from. The next issue at #7, 79% want to know more about Christian Heritage: role of Christian faith in American history, church role in U.S. development…, many of these topics are discussed on VFNtv. David Barton, talks about our Christian heritage in his, American Heritage Series, and does a great job at explaining it. As a Pastor you can get these DVD’s from David Barton and use those to educate your congregation about this topic or even as an individual this is a great series to buy as well. At #6, 80% want to hear about Israel: It’s role in the world. Christian responsibility to Israel, U.S. foreign policy toward Israel and its enemies. We need to have a biblical perspective of Israel to understand, because we as the Church will be held responsible for what we did and did not do. Christians are wanting to hear about this from their Pastors so that they can respond from a biblical viewpoint. JERUSALEM THE ETERNAL CAPITAL OF ISRAEL; Trump’s Bold Stand for Israel TODAY, Etched his name in the history books of eternity, right beside Truman’s – Recognizing Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel!

To say that this is a momentous occasion would be an understatement of all understatements. Many prayers have been continually lifted up on behalf of Israel and America’s Embassy in Tel Aviv the moment the Jerusalem Embassy Act was passed as public law more than 20 years ago. The Act instructs the Embassy to be moved to the capital city of Jerusalem. Today, it has now become a reality. The 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump, has just announced that he is moving America’s Embassy in Israel, from the city of Tel Aviv, to Israel’s capital city, Jerusalem. This is a mighty day to celebrate.

This will be a day that many will remember in their lives and will forever be remembered as a turning point in the pages of history. As the city of Jerusalem has been a continual ‘topic of conflict’ in the Arab world, President Trump clearly understands that the same actions previously taken in decades past will not produce different results. “We are no closer to a lasting peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians. It would be folly to assume that repeating the exact same formula would now produce a different or better result.” In response, the President shares these historic remarks; “Therefore, I have determined that it is time to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.”  

John Hagee underscores our need to continue to pray for our President as well as America’s unwavering commitment to stand alongside our ally, Israel. “Let’s unite together on this historic day to pray for our President, our nation and the nation of Israel like never before. Let’s pray that the United States will remain resolute in its commitment and support of Israel…As Christians, it is our duty to minister to the Jewish people in a substantial and material way.” This move of America’s embassy is not just simply a fulfillment of what the Jerusalem Embassy Act stated, but it is much more than that. It is a declaration to the nations of the world that Jerusalem is the capital city of Israel, and America’s bond with Israel is as strong as iron. Since the time of the Romans destroying Jerusalem, the Jews have been second class citizens in their own country. When the Balfour Declaration became a reality, all of that changed.
 
In a documentary commemorating this historic event, Christians United for Israel point out this significant moment that took place on November 2, 1917. This was the beginning process which established as “the modern state of Israel in the ancient homeland of the Jewish people”. It is so exciting to see how history has unfolded and the Jewish people continue to remember their heritage and the birth of Israel. ‘America’s Best Investment in Foreign Aid is the Billions of dollars given to Israel’ a look at the many benefits of the relationship between America and Israel

We boldly stand with and for Israel. Israel was the birthplace of Jesus and it is where Jesus is going to stand when He returns. In the midst of this exciting news, our present Administration has been making odd decisions. During our President’s first international speech, he visited Cairo University, where he reportedly invited the Muslim Brotherhood. It was also this current Administration who impacted the change of leadership in Egypt when Mohammed Morsi was put into power. Who was the Secretary of State during this time? Hillary Clinton. Now that Morsi has been removed and Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has been established. El-Sisi not only supports Israel but is an ally to Israel. Oddly enough, our current Administration pushes both el-Sisi and Israel aside. The question is why?

According to CBN, “The U.S. currently sends $3 Billion each year, to Israel.” The benefits of this foreign aid is absolutely priceless. A look at just a few of the items gives you an understanding as to why. When Israel spends that money on their defense, that adds to more American jobs. “By law, most of the military aid sent to Israel, must be spent back in the U.S. with American defense contractors.” This is just for starters.

To raise a more important perspective of our relationship with Israel, the intelligence that Israel provides to America is simply unmatched. When the former chief of U.S. Air Force Intelligence, Gen. George Keegan, spoke about Israel’s intelligence input regarding recent Air Force developments, he expressed it this way; “I could not have procured the intelligence with five CIAs”. It’s also the benefit to our Special Forces and our joint efforts against Radical Islam that are dramatically impacted because of our relationship.

‘Global Sanity Depends on the Willingness of U.S. to Defy Odds rather than be Defined by the Odds”, says Israeli Ambassador Yoram Ettinger; An Israeli Perspective on the Middle East.

 

CBN’s Pat Robertson has a powerful discussion when he sits down with Israeli Ambassador Yoram Ettinger. During our extensive coverage of Israel, we also had many discussions regarding Mahmoud Abbas and his involvement with Israel. When Robertson asks about Abbas’s impact on achieving peace, Ambassador Ettinger shares some interesting comments in response. “The daily education which he has introduced into the Palestinian Authority, K-12, is THE most ferocious, hate-education, anti-Semitic, anti-Jewish, anti-U.S.A., anti-democratic, and therefore, Mahmoud Abbas has not been an asset to the peaceful co-existence attempt, but rather a very egregious liability.” As Ambassador Ettinger explains, it has been this type of education that has spawned the present regime of Ayatollahs, ‘the most anti-American regime anywhere in the world’.

 

Connecting the dots of the past Carter Administration, Ettinger highlights how the Obama Administration is acting in the same manner. He also brings attention to the current Administration’s actions towards Egypt’s el-Sisi by “still turning a cold shoulder towards President el-Sisi and pressuring him to alleviate the pressure of the Muslim Brotherhood”.

 

As Robertson asks the Ambassador his perspective on our current Administration’s decision to turn away from nations such as Egypt, Israel, and Jordan while embracing Iran. In response, he shares, “I think it’s a traditional…wishful thinking over realism”. He continues to share that “The Department of State was a chief opponent of the establishment of the Jewish State in 1948…It was the Department of State… claiming that Israel is a very short-lived experience… and that Israel would become a chief ally of communism against the U.S. and how wrong have they been!?” In his final comments, he shared that “global sanity depends on the willingness of the U.S. to defy odds rather than be defied by the odds.”

 

Our issue is not in the amount or lack of our manpower but in our dependency and hope in God. Our trust cannot be in our strength, but in God. When we see the acts of jihad and terrorism throughout the world, many wonder why so many travesties and devastations are happening throughout the world. But, when we simply look at the text of what is taught, we begin to see a clear picture as to why some people do what it is that they do. According to nirboms.com, “The Levant countries presently consist of the states of Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria. Israel remains absent in the vast majority of textbook maps as well.” Take into consideration he openly omits Israel and combine that with what is encouraged. Nirboms continues to reveal that according to the “Religious Affairs issued by the Waqf, it is written that:

 

Today the Muslim states need Jihad and Jihad warriors urgently in order to free the robbed territories and get rid of the thieving Jews in the robbed lands of Palestine and the Levant”. Often times, when we think of Israel, one may think of the Holy City of Jerusalem or the Western Wall. But, there is actually much more to see in Israel. For instance, Israel’s most Southern city of Elat. Elat is a small fishing village but it is also known for its coral reefs. While some may think of the city landscape when considering Israel, Elat offers a diverse tourism experience of hotels, spas, and glass-bottom-boat fishing trips. LISTEN NOW! With the many urgencies and tragedies happening all across the Globe today, it is easy to get caught up in one thing after another. In the ever-changing tides and happenings of present day, it is imperative that we keep the focus of our eyes and hearts upon Israel.  There are so many different voices and narratives that are being spread regarding stories involving Israel. Not all of these are sharing the full story, or what is truly happening.
 
Dailymail is reporting how the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has been carrying out special missions to bring medical aid to injured fighters. With the entire fighting taking place within Israel, this would not seem out of the ordinary. Who exactly they are rendering aid to, may surprise you. At the Israeli border its closest Northern neighbor, Syria, Israeli commandos are carrying out high profile missions that are extremely dangerous, they are crossing over the established border and onto Syrian grounds to bring wounded Syrian Islamic Jihadist fighters, who have been wounded, back over onto Israeli soil in order to render the needed aid. All of this is to ultimately save lives; the lives of those who have sworn to destroy and kill Israelis. According to Dailymail, “They have saved more than 2,000 people since 2013, at a cost of 50 million shekels (£8.7million).” These missions carry with them a heightened danger, as possible ambushes linger each and every time Israeli forces cross over to help the identified wounded. Regardless, they continue to go.
 
This is most likely contrary to the narratives that are often heard in the media. It is not only important, but vital to understand the happenings regarding Israel. Israeli Ambassador to the United States, Ron Dermer, has been a continual voice of truth regarding Israel. During the conflict with the Gaza Strip in 2014, his words of truth were unshakable and undeniable. As images upon images revealed the innocent casualties of Palestinians, Ambassador Dermer highlights the real reason. When he spoke to those with Christians United for Israel (CUFI), he reminded the people that soldiers from Hamas were using civilians as human shields. When Israel responded, a restraint was demonstrated more than any other nation in order to minimize innocent casualties. “Israel deserves much more than support from the International community, Israel deserves admiration from the International community.” By responding the way the IDF did amidst such horrific actions by Hamas, Ambassador Dermer emphatically stresses, “While Israel is doing everything to keep innocent civilians out of harm’s way, Hamas is doing everything it can to put innocent civilians into harm’s way.”With this he also shares, “The Israeli defense force should be given a Nobel Peace Prize… for fighting with unimaginable restraint.”
 

In order to understand events regarding Israel, we must know the WHOLE story, the FULL story, not just a one sided story that repeatedly places all of the pressure and blame solely upon the shoulders of Israel. With all of this in mind, Ambassador Dermer shares the critical response that is desperately needed in this hour; “It’s time for the UN to find a moral compass; it’s time for the world to find a moral backbone; it’s time to take a stand against the use of human shields.” Allow your perspective of Israel and the hearts of the Jewish people to greatly be challenged and so much more. Iran Nuclear Deal: Good Deal for Who? Not Israel- Is this Munich 1938 Again and the Beginning of WWIII?

LISTEN NOW! or WATCH FULL PROGRAM! What many had hoped would not come to pass, did in fact occur. President Obama has signed an agreement with Iran about their nuclear program. On the heels of this agreement being signed, the President shared these remarks about the effects of the agreement, “If I were succeeded by a Republican president…..that Republican president would be in a much stronger position than I was when I came into office in terms of constraining Iran’s Nuclear Program.” The events that have just transpired are echoing the same realities as to what took place just moments before World War II began as Neville Chamberlain boldly waved the Munich Agreement with both his signature and Adolf Hitler’s signature on it promoting peace in Europe.

 

Coincidentally enough, when Democratic New York State Assemblyman, Dov Hikind, was interviewed on Fox News, his remarks expressed a stark contrast to the President’s. “This is Chamberlain 1938….. I want to see fellow Democrats look at this deal for what it is. It is a betrayal of our friends all over the world…..Israel is being threatened. 4 days ago ‘DEATH TO ISRAEL!’ ‘DEATH TO AMERICA’; some people don’t want to believe that. I believe it. I believe they want to destroy the State of Israel.” We have the wisdom of looking back at history and seeing the outcome of that agreement with Adolf Hitler that did not result in peace within Europe, but the death of 60 million people and 6 million Jews being massacred in the Holocaust. Are we repeating the same events of history? Are we about to experience World War III?

 

It has been said that when God wants to discipline a nation, He causes the leadership of that nation to turn against Israel. We have just witnessed the leadership of America willfully sign an agreement with a nation that is an enemy of God, an enemy of Israel and an enemy of America. When the President was interviewed by Israel Channel 2 news, asking about his relationship with Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu, he said, “When I’m with Bibi, we have good conversations, they’re tough, they’re forceful, we disagree, but, uh, I enjoy jousting with him….” It matters when the leadership of a nation openly expresses jousting with the nation of Israel in a positive way. The answer is not looking at politicians. The politicians in America are elected leaders, elected by the citizens of America.

 

Regardless of what occurs, we know this: Israel is going to defend itself. The question is are you for Israel, or are you against Israel? It matters how we treat Israel. Joel 3:2 make this clear, “I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will put them on trial for what they did to my inheritance, my people Israel, because they scattered my people among the nations and divided up my land.” This is the moment when we can make the decisions, before the eyes of the Lord, in humility and repentance that we are for Israel.  Watch and hear the full report about what has taken place, how multiple perspectives and times in history highlight the relevancy and urgency of what is taking place, and so much more. WATCH! We need to know those who are amongst us: Protecting the Church from Protesters and those who want to do harm

WATCH FULL PROGRAM! or  LISTEN NOW! In today’s culture it’s important for each of us to know and be aware of our surroundings, to know those who are to our left and right. John Hagee currently leads Cornerstone Church in Texas. This fellowship of Christians is nearly 20,000 people. During a particular fellowship, people began standing up, one after another, speaking against Israel and protesting about specific beliefs. Those in the fellowship did not know those who were against them. Thank God these protesters did not use any weapons within the fellowship. This is not to breed fear but to encourage the church to walk in wisdom. “I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.”-Acts 20:29-31. There are important truths to be learned and walked out in light of these events. As the church, we can respond together, in wisdom, not as individuals. Be encouraged as you hear how to be the light in love, in truth, and so much more.
