LISTEN NOW! So many prayers and petitions have been lifted up and signed throughout the Body of Christ as a response to Pastor Saeed Abedini’s imprisonment in Iran. After more than three years he has finally been released. Jay Sekulow, with the ACLJ, and Franklin Graham have spearheaded so much in order to bring Saeed back home safe. With compassionate hugs and eager embraces, Saeed’s parents see him and urgently embrace him just seconds after he steps off the plane in Asheville, North Carolina.

Saeed later sat down with FOX News in an exclusive interview about his time in captivity. Of all the time that Pastor Saeed was in captivity, the most memorable memory for his was when he was in court, standing before an Iranian judge. When the judge questioned his reason for being sentenced, Saeed responded with his work in the ministry. He was surprised when the judge told him why he was arrested. “You are here because you want to use Christianity to remove government…you guys are using Christianity to remove the government.” Even after Saeed pressed that that was not what he was doing, the judge quickly ordered him to be taken away. This is such an important truth.

In solitary confinement for more than 60 days, he was in the same room with United State Marine, Amir Hekmati. Seeing this Marine in this state was very heartbreaking with him. Saeed shares how he passed the time by simply praying, ‘Each day hours and hours. Sometimes more than 20 hours. I just prayed and prayed. It was wonderful time with the Lord.’ Other encounters and memories of his captivity were not enjoyable as he recounts the interrogation and beatings that he suffered.

Honoring Recently Martyred Missionary Mike Riddering

So many are continuing to mourn and remember Mike Riddering, a Christian Missionary who was recently killed in Burkina Faso Africa. As we remember the impact of his life, we see just how wide spread the impact of Mike’s life was; not only in Africa, but also back in America. This is especially true of his brother Jeff Riddering.

In an interview with CBN, Jeff shares about Mike’s beginning testimony when he gave his life to Jesus Christ. More than 11 years ago, Jeff received a phone call from his brother, Mike. “He made a decision for Christ that changed his life. He encountered God in his pick-up truck. He was going down the street one day, he calls me on the phone, still pulled over on the side of the road, he says ‘Jeff, I think I’m going to hell.” On the other end of the phone, Jeff tried to encourage him, “No you’re not. You grew up in a Christian family. Are you sure?” Not really sure what was happening, Mike responds, “No, I don’t love God… I think I’m about ready to love God. I’ll call you back.” That was the moment that ended up being the beginning event that would later carry Mike to Africa in response to God’s call on his life.

Mike traveled to Africa to dig a well and humbly serve in whatever capacity he could find. It was in this humble service that Mike was able to impact so many people’s lives. As Jeff recounts so many problems around the world, like terrorism and hate, he recalls the life that his brother lived as the solution. “The solution to fear is love. The solution to mistrust and anger is love.”It is this love found in Jesus Christ that is the mandate of the Great Commission. Jeff shares about his brother’s perspective if people were fearful of going. “My brother would be crazy right now if people were afraid of going and loving and going where God calls them to go. We must go. If we’re not able to make disciples, we’re not part of the solution.”

It matters how we are treating those that God has placed around us. Some give reason to their action of not going based on their few talents. It matters what we do or do not do with what God has given us. Jesus speaks specifically about this in Matthew 25:14-30. It doesn’t turn out good to the one who refuses to go based on fear. Jesus responds to this man in verse 26. In fact, He calls him specifically, “You wicked, lazy servant!”

We cannot help but to be changed and transformed when we encounter the Love of God. We are compelled to live out our lives as a thank you in response to the One who loves us so deeply. Imagine living a life, not a long life, but a fulfilled life in the Kingdom, in response to where God is calling you now. Be encouraged and reminded of the power of love as you hear Jeff sharing about the impactful life of his brother, Mike, and so much more. LISTEN NOW! Originally arrested in Iran, more than three years ago because of his Christian faith, Pastor Saeed Abedini has finally been released and is now coming home! As one who has remained steadfast in the voice regarding Saeed’s imprisonment, his wife, Nagmeh, shares about the encouragement from the constant prayers from so many around the world. In an interview with CBN, she shares “Outside of my faith in Jesus Christ, I’m so thankful for the millions who prayed, who trusted God with me, who did not give up, who would send me messages and letters…”. This is truly a joyous day as an answer to so many prayers have been realized.

It was a year ago when Nagmeh Abedini met with President Obama in Idaho about the situation regarding her husband, Saeed. At the time, the President shared that he would do all that he could to answer that response. Fast forward to today, and that request has been realized.

Kindergarten Banned ‘God Bless USA’ Song

Kindergarten students at a New York City elementary school were banned from performing the song “God Bless the USA” at their graduation ceremony.

PS 90 principal Greta Hawkins said the song was not age appropriate and could end up “offending other cultures.”

But the song’s author, country music artist Lee Greenwood, said that as a man of faith he was offended by the principal’s decision.

“I wrote ‘God Bless the USA’ about the love I have for this country and the struggle we have gone through to remain free. Our country was founded on the principle that it welcomes people of all cultures and gives them the same rights we have as citizens,” he said.

“However, I feel compelled to echo the faith of our forefathers, who all believed in God and a respect of a higher authority,” he added.

“Personally, denying the children of PS 90 to sing ‘God Bless the USA’ offends me as a Christian,” he said. “My song is about hope, faith, spirit and pride. How could that be wrong on any level?”

Meanwhile, the American Center for Law and Justice is working to have the song ban reversed, saying banning the song tramples First Amendment free speech rights.

More than 23,000 people signed a petition in favor of the song being performed.

The petition, along with a letter from the ACLJ, was sent to the school superintendent, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and several other school officials.
